Krátke prídavné mená stupňujeme koncovkami -er a the -est, dlhé slovami more a the most. Porovnávame pomocou than.

Pravopis
Krátka samohláska + spoluhláska → zdvojenie (big → bigger). Spoluhláska + y → -ier (easy → easier). Koncové -e → len -r (nice → nicer).
- My brother is taller than me. – Môj brat je vyšší ako ja.
As … as
Rovnako ako: as + prídavné meno + as. Zápor: not as … as.
- This film is not as good as the book. – Tento film nie je taký dobrý ako kniha.
Čím…, tým…
The + 2. stupeň, the + 2. stupeň.
- The sooner, the better. – Čím skôr, tým lepšie.
