- Prídavné meno opisuje podstatné meno (a quick car), príslovka opisuje sloveso a zvyčajne končí na -ly (He drives quickly).
- Nepravidelné príslovky: good → well, fast → fast, hard → hard, late → late, early → early.
- Po slovesách be, look, seem, feel, taste, smell, sound nasleduje prídavné meno: You look tired. It tastes good.
- Prídavné mená na -y menia y na i: easy → easily, happy → happily.
