1. To walk on air - být nesmírně šasten, být v sedmém nebi
I was walking on air the day I heard the news.
Since her honeymoon she has been walking on air.

2. On cloud nine - být nesmírně šasten, být v sedmém nebi
When I won the competition, I was on cloud nine.
After George and Sarah had returned from their trip to India, they seem to be on cloud nine. I think he must have proposed to her.

3. To catch someone in the act - přistihnout někoho při činu
One day they'll catch him in the act.
I knew he was a thief, and at last he was caught in the act.

4. A dead end - situace, která nikam nevede; slepá ulička
I'm completely stuck in a dead end job.
This argument is hopeless. Can't you see that we've come to a dead end.

5. In black and white - černé na bílém
I have the proof - in black and white.
I cannot believe that that stupid man has been appointed director. Unless I see it in black and white, I won't believe it.
